6BRA load data

Alex built me this rifle a couple months back and I couldn’t be any happier. First 6BR Improved I have worked with. It just handles great and seems to give consistent feedback with whatever tests I do. You know, not the tests that leave you scratching your head. Small groups to date are 2.3” for 5 and 4.4” for ten shots.

Here is a powder ladder shot at 1K with a new Hawk Hill barrel I was breaking in. The last 15 shots from the five highest loads printed in 6.25”. The barrel shows a lot of promise but needs more testing. I pulled it off and put my Krieger back on. Matches are upon us so I’ll go with the proven barrel/load and come back to this one in the fall. That’s something I’m looking forward to. It looks like it wants to run at about 2,960-2,970. The Krieger likes 2,945.

Load data is on on the target. Velocities were with an Oehler 35P, 15’ from the muzzle.

I did re-shoot part of the ladder with higher charges but 30.9 and 31.0 went vertical on me.

Dave.
I have a question about the target, bear with me. When you shoot the 3 shot group,do you go to the target and mark the color after each charge? Not sure how you would keep the load patterns straight if not...enlighten me please....

Kratos is correct. Here are some from a couple days ago.

If you are unable to see the colors on the target, dab them with alcohol and you will see the color show up better.

Dave.

^^^ I wondered about this, because I colored up tips for a match, but all holes showed up black. Coloring has worked for Me in the past, but I assumed it was because it was fresher. I’ll definitely try the alcohol tip. Thanks

Here are 5 reds & 5 untouched.

QTip/Dabbing a bit of alcohol on the bullet holes makes the color pop a bit. Especially on the back side...

yellow red and blue are a tight race for me usually , yellow being my early season dense Montana air winner.

Shawn,

For me red ones hit higher than blue ones and yellow ones hit to the right while purple ones hit left. That’s why I sometimes I switch colors during a relay if the wind shifts.

Maybe @tom could test that.

Dave we all ready have Lol.. some colors are very UN-reliable some colors have better traction or tractability then other less desirable ones. also how or what direction color is applied will play a role in results. 6-dashers really shine on "Blue" color and 103 vapors.. 3020fps

Bump to see if you or anyone has worked up a load with N140?

im working with it right now, seems to be doing pretty good so far. The fire forming loads at 2808
And 2848 both provided incredible es and sd along with phenomenal groups. First pressure test showed promising results and will be continuing testing this week. Velocity ranged from 2870-3013fps but hit pressure. Seems to be a node at 2908 and another at 2950

I agree and use orange for X count

AR Comp showing up this week. Been looking for it forever a good while now. Anyone have good results with it? I understand it compares favorably to H4895.
