6BRA load data

What is the best barrel length and twist, contour to shoot the 105 bullet or equivalent in the bra at 600/1000 benchrest, and still make LG weight? Thanks for any recommendation you can make.
I chamber a lot of 7.75-8 twists and a 28" 4 groove is my preference. I liked the dasher at 28" as well before ever chambering a BRA. Have been experimenting with contours for a couple years now. HV is the standard but certainly not the only way to go, possibly not even the best way to go.

My 108 BT load continues to deliver. Haven’t needed to tweak it since last year

30.6g H4895, BR4, -0.020” off

Target from last weekend’s 600 yard F Class match

200 - 14X

Did anyone notice that is the exact load I posted for AR COMP?

Berger 108 (i shoot 20 and 30 jump both shoot the same). I have shot 30.6 and 30.4 both, they both shot equally well. So, I just shot 30.5.

All mockery aside, all the complaining about lots of h4895 being all over the place... Alliant makes way better powder. Certainly way more consistent. Oh well!!

Good info. Rifle balance matters more than some realize. One of my best shooting BRAs was a 28 inch Brux that Dad set back to 27 after 700ish rounds. It has been my experience, especially with the small 6mms, that trying to get as close to 17 pounds isn’t necessary.

My current experiment is a 28 inch #7 contour Lilja. The rifle isn't 15 pounds even with a heavier Bat Neuvo LR action and LRB stock with standard fill. Excited to see how it does.

I remember reading a thread here where a fella tried a 30” and had difficulty getting the load to tune until he lopped off 2” and everything fell into place

How is brass life in the 2900+ range?

I run both high and low node (+-2920/+-3000), depending on what shoots smaller in each barrel. I've yet to retire any BRA brass, and still have excellent accuracy with 20+ fired. Even have a box I abused taking it up to 3100 node, and it's still testing anything I don't have data on. Actually loaded up the other day and shot some 3 shot groups with my red gun at 871 yards. When I hit my window it went under an inch, just as I would suspect from my "match brass".

28” Kreiger HV .236 4 groove, 31.05gns H4895, Berger 105 Huntings Jammed .008”thou at 2991fps.. won our 500m BR Fly state championships light and heavy gun with the one light gun.. I am running in a new Barrel at moment and will shoot the custom 103 Copperheads only from this barrel, very keen to see how they stack up against the Bergers. So far during fire forming the Bergers have shot as small as the Copperheads!!
Just a quick question here years after but since your load advice on the Copper Head 103's was so spot on... Was it real H4895 or local (Aussie) AR2206H?
Cheers Mate,

I’m new to the BRAI game, been shooting long range with a heavy 284 shehane. Now going with a light brai. I’m using Reloder 23 in the 284 with great results,,,,any of the Reloder powders worth testing in the brai?

I recently picked up 8lbs of N140 and 8lbs of N150

I’d love to hear some 6bra load experience from folks that have used either of these powders
