6BRA load data

I loaded up 20 rounds and shot it yesterday at 117 yards. No I didn't shoot any thru the chronograph. It was already 2pm and starting to snow. Temp was about 30 degrees and wind was from the West at 5-10mph. I changed scope mount etc...so had to put a zero back on the gun as well but I figured a quick test would tell me something.
when I went for a good group I should've shot it at a different target so I could measure it better but it's what I had laying around.

I also had 5 loads left of Varget....both loads the Varget and SW powder where loaded at 29.8gr. and I was fire forming cases from 6BR to 6BRA. The Varget load the bolt didn't lift too hard but does lift harder than the SW powder did. I noticed that before with the Varget load and it was 5 rounds I had left still loaded. I'll also say I feel that the SW powder seems to burn cleaner but I'd like to put 50 rounds thru the gun to get a better test going.

Bullets where 107SMK tipped. Fed205m primers and the bullets where .010" off the lands.

Pictures attached. I posted this on the SW powder thread also.

Later, Frank

1st ever load for a new 6BRI: .266 neck, 28" Krieger with 108 Bergers, BR4's, and H4895 [30.2-30.4] 3 shot groups at 100yds. .020 jump

BTW, this is the first time I ever reloaded as well. Hours of time spent here and some tutoring by some of the members here on the side. This place in invaluable as a resource. And of course, I am hooked now!

Moving on to 103's, but the 108's will definitely be my standby.

Do you know your velocities for those loads?

D9B4FB95-D3BB-405C-B6CB-446F0363AB4B.jpeg Had 40 rounds on new barrel and I was looking for pressure with brass culls/development brass while waiting for the barrel to settle.
Different lots of brass, trim lengths weren’t uniformed and fired unequal amount of times. Kinda making me rethink what’s important. HahaE8524329-0488-48D8-9B22-AC4549940A8C.jpeg
Thanks Alex Wheeler.
I wonder which bullet will win? 105 hybrid or 108bt
Giggity!
525 yds, long wait between shots but wind direction and value were steady.

Does anyone have any short range load data for Barts 80gr BT in an 12 twist BRA? How do they shoot for you?

Got a new 12 twist truck axle Brux today chambered in 6BRA .
IMR 8208 from 31.5 to 32.8 all looks pretty good..32.1 shot the best group of the day but the wind was up and a couple other groups were opened by conditions..
5 shot group at 100 yards with only 35 rounds on new barrel.

Wheeler Borden drop port rifle with Tim Claunch chambered Brux barrel.

If you guys want to see some crazy speed try cfe223. It has shot some zeros for me at 1k tuning, (my only zeros I have shot) last summer. It has some wide nodes, but is a little temp sensitive. If you live in a stable climate or like speed try it. Im not going to post loads on it because its hard to believe the speeds you can get. Just start low and work up to pressure. 33 with a 103 would be a good place to start and work up from there.

Funny you should mention CFE223, I used it to fire form BRA and was quite surprised how fast it was, and pretty accurate. Lots of carbon fouling though

Been breaking in a few barrels getting 100rds on them before starting load development using a crappy lot of powder and bullets. Once I hit 100 I shot 10 with a known powder charge and some new bullets from @BartsBullets . No load development just getting an idea what the combination can do. Target is 1.5" shot at 550yds. Nothing magical but a great start and I think I'll be enjoying this combination.

My 108 BT load continues to deliver. Haven’t needed to tweak it since last year

30.6g H4895, BR4, -0.020” off

Target from last weekend’s 600 yard F Class match

200 - 14X

I thought this thread could be useful. Interested in hearing all the different combos you guys have found success with.
What is the best barrel length and twist, contour to shoot the 105 bullet or equivalent in the bra at 600/1000 benchrest, and still make LG weight? Thanks for any recommendation you can make.
