6BRA load data

The following is a hot load (at least in LA hot weather) but it shoots well. 30.6 gr. H4895/Fed. 205M/Bart's 105 gr. Gungnir/.006 into the lands. This along with some more 3-shot groups was shot yesterday at 600 yards. The 3 groups shot with H4895 measured 1.032, 1.060, and .858". Here is the .858" group.DSCF0003.JPG

I wouldnt say I pioneered the BRA/BRAI. There was certainly a few others before I got on board. I do 100% believe its the best thing going for 1k BR right now though and I have pushed it because I like to see group aggs shrink. But you are very welcome and thanks for the kind words.

Today I FF 50 cases with an old lot of N-140 (30.2) grains and 105 Nosler CC bullets 5 thou in. Wolf SRM. Just old stuff to use up.
Shooting sling on an etarget at 500 yd I had a 200-12 and 199-10 due a brainfart on the lone 9. This little case just hammers with any FF load I've fed it.
Match loads with formed cases are 30.7 H4895 or 31.8 Re-15 with 105 Hybrids or 108's both about 10 off. I've used Wolf SRM and 450's and can see little difference

Very generous of you also to get me and a couple others over here started with your reamer specs... The BRA works pretty good at 500m to..Much appreciated.
Sam was also very generous with his advice as were many others on this site..

Heres a seating depth test I shot at 1k a couple weeks ago.
28" krieger, Bat MB, foam-fill LRB stock
H4895 31.1 2985-2990 fps
103 Vapor trail (not sorted) .004, .006 and .008 in the lands yellow, blue, green
fed 205

that's a sound seating ladder anywhere Alex let alone Dillion Montana what I like about it most is even though we are getting the normal quadrant shift the colors still have round affinity for the same color its not loosing it to vertical stringing or horizontal problems we encounter all 3 positions would pull it off in a match

I wish I was smart enough to understand this.

I will translate, lol, even though there was a shift in poi with the greens they still grouped.
This is not the best example but you usually will see a poi shift away from your overlap accompanied with bigger groups, going out of tune. Some platforms will give poi shift but still group well. They are special. I say platforms because I do not think this is 100% from the barrel, the rest of the rifle has to be promoting it.

All 9 are darn respectable as they are. From my perspective, a 4.538" group is a dandy at 1000 yards!

What I see; the POI of the green group is slightly lower, forming the lower edge of the greater 9 shot group. The green group has a significant reduction in vertical as compared to the other two groups while still "printing" within the larger group. Do I have this correct?

I tend to tune conservative. I am looking for loads that are not on the edge. Usually they wont be the smallest, but the safest. If I wanted to try to tune one on the ragged edge I would want to see .010" in as well. Likely it will break out. So while .008 in was a little tighter, its probably on the edge and because it shifted poi, small variation in seating depths will show as vertical. While .004 and .006 might have been a little bigger I will load .005in and a little variation wont hurt me. But its probably not going to break a small group record either.

As far as a tuning class, I do have access to a conference room at the Chevy dealer in Missoula. We have talked about it, but I dont think it is going to happen. Just come and shoot on a Friday before any match and ask one of the guys thats tuning if you can tag along. They will show you what they are doing. The general idea is very simple. We call these ladders, but they really are not. It a variation on a sine wave target test shot at the same poa.

Alex, thanks for the translation.
