6bra at 2900

I have found a node with 108s, h4895 30.6 at 2900fps and I might not go any higher. Thinking this might be easier on brass. Would you stop here? What have you guys found?
TIA Don

I like to know where each of my rifles hits pressure. I take every one up to where It has an ejector mark or sticky bolt lift. If it doesn't hit pressure unto say 3020 you might (or might not) find a more accurate node higher than 2900, but you'll never know unless you know where your pressure limits are. Temp stability of your powder also is also part of that decision.

My node is about 3,005, a bit higher than I had anticipated staying but no bad signs and hammers.

If you want to get them really moving Reloader 15 will do it. That being said, like so many others 2960ish was my sweet spot with RL-15 with 103/105's.

Regards
Rick

It better be said it would depend on the lot # of H4895 you have..... I have one that shoots good and 31.1 out of a 28" Lederer is 2998 and an other lot out of the same barrel with 31.2 is 2915 both are with a 105 bullet. That is a big difference, H4895 is scary anymore ...... jim

So I have heard. I bought a bit of h4895 a while ago and blended it all together. That should last me a couple of years as I don't shoot often. So I guess it is what it is for now. I have tried RL15 but that didn't seem to shoot as good.
thanks Don

I don't do that anymore, I'm lucky to be near CAC. and will buy a pound out. each lot they have. I will shoot each lot right away if one is good , I go back and buy a bunch....... jim
Should I ever grow up I hope I turn out like you!!!

My first test showed a wide node centered at around 2950.

And another really nice one right at 2875 too.

Went over 3000 with no pressure but I dont think I will go that high. Not necessary. Temp resistant powder will park it in the node.

I ran 6 Creedmoor at around 3050 I know they’ll go faster. The accuracy nodes for 6brx are around 3025-50 and 3100 if you want to to push your brass. I run a 28”’barrel for PRS and figure I can get 3050 easy. I’m gettin 2900 out of a straight BR with 15 reloadings on the brass. The barrel life might be slightly less than a 6br but my first Creedmoor barrel crapped out at 1300. I’ll get more than twice that with the same velocity, bc, and better accuracy.
