6br vs. 6xc vs.6/22-250

I'm a newbie here and tried looking in past threads to see if this has been addressed. If so please direct. Thanks. I am planning to change from service rifle to match rifle for XTC. I am wondering how the 6br, 6xc, 6/22-250 compare for XTC. I am interested in pros and cons for accuracy, feeding, barrel life, etc. Also is the 6/22-250 same as 6/250. I know that one is made from the 22-250 and the other is made from 250 sav. Other than that are they the same one formed. The second part of my question is about the type of action. I am not locked into bolt or semiauto. What are the pros and cons for each action type and how will they work with the above listed cartridges. Thanks in advance for any information.

The 6-22-250 and the 6-250 are the same as far as I know. Some folks start with a 250 Savage case and neck it down but most start with the 22-250 case and neck it up. I went with the 6XC over the 6-250 as it is reported to feed better in RF than the 6-250 due to the taper in the case. The 6XC will feed in any action setup to work with a standard 308. The 6XC holds a few more grs of powder and will push the 115's to 3000 f/s with no problem. I suspect the 120 gr 6 MM bullet Tubb is working on will need the extra powder to work well but we'll see. My T2K feeds the 6XC perfectly and the 115 @ 3000 f/s is a killer @ 1000 yds and a fantastic XTC round. I use the 70 gr bullet @ 200, the 85 gr @ 300 and the 107 @ 600 in my 25" XTC setup. I reserve the 115 for 1000 yds in a 30" Lilja. I don't think there will be much difference in barrel life between the 6-250 and the 6XC. It will depend on how you load it. I expect around 2500 rounds out of mine as I don't run flat out on the short range loads. As far as accuracy, my T2K shoots everything I feed it into 1/2 moa or less. YMMV.
As far as the 6BR; I feel you must push it to the VERY top end to get the V for 600/1000. It is susposedly more accurate due to the brass but I personally don't think you will see it @ 1000 yds on a windy day down at Butner. Why run the 6BR at Nuke levels and potetinally have feeding issues when the 6XC was designed from the Git Go to perform by the best shooter in the busines. If the BR or 6-250 was a better round, you can be dang sure Tubb would be using it. Some complain about the Brass availability but that is not a problem as it is made from 22-250
if you don't go with that supplied by Tubb. Some complain about the expense of the Tubb FL die. I feel that is a Tad short sighted as the die is a real piece of work and will last a lifetime. I would suggest you get the full set of Tubb dies and also pick up a Redding 6BR Competition Neck Bushing die. The Tubb die only has 2 bushings and I like the option of much finer control over the neck sizing provided by the Redding.
I'm not trying to start a war here with my preferences but I've seen blown primers in the 6BR @ 1K and feeding provlems in RF with the 6-250 and for my $$, the 6XC is the only way to go.
