6BR vs 6Dasher

6BR vs 6Dasher:

Which of the 2 is the most accurate for Mid-Range to Longrange? I've been thinking about a 6Dasher for 600-1000 yards.

BR if you are not into FF. accuracy, 1K the Dasher so at 600 the the extra speed is a plus, Look at the records that will answer your question. Would i go to a BR after having a Dasher ?I don't think so. A good barrel and good bullets a Dasher is a .1 gun...jim

When you can put 10 rounds in 1.5" @300 yds your good for a 6" group at 1K. If you cant get that out of your 6BR/Dasher dont waste your $$$$ doing a match. Pete

That could be the dumbest advice I have ever heard!!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D LMAO!

Donald,
If it were me and I was shooting 100-600 yards I would go with the 6br, no fireforming and extremely accurate but from 600-1000 yards the extra 100+ fps that the Dasher has to offer over the std. 6br really seems to help buck the wind, I think my Dasher 28" barrel was right at 3030 FPS with a 107SMK, hope this helps some.
Wayne.

I shoot a 6BRX along side 284's and 7 short mags and I hold mine own for being new to the wind reading. 105 JLK's doing 3028. And what a pleasure to shoot that good of gun with little recoil. May go 284 some day but right now love the BRX.

Gary,
I traded my 6*284 in for the 6brx, I won't be going back!

Three or four years ago a guy at Original 1000 Yard Club in Williamsport shot a 6 Dasher in both heavy and light. He did a fair amount of winning both relays and shoot offs. He then decided he didn't want to fireform cases anymore and decided to rechamber for 6 BR the next year. He hardly won any relays. Then he decided to rechamber for 6 Dashers and he won more shootoffs then i ever seen in a year. I asked him why he didn't shoot good the year before and he told me the BR was not fast enough for the conditions. Matt

Thanks everyone for the responses. Pete, don't make me come out to Montana with 1 of my 6CM's and give you a lesson. I asked about the 6BR and the Dasher simply because I may want to build another 6MM for longrange bench shooting.

I am wondering if a 6 x47lapua fits into this catagory, or is it not accurate enough compared to the 6br and 6dasher. Reason I am asking,I was thinking of having a 6br or 6x47.

DGD6MM. Excuse, I did not mean to give ..quote the "dumbest advice" to anyone, we all learn at Matches, I,ve only been shooting them for over 15 years. But I also see alot of guys get plucked , I have always gone out of my way to help new shooters with advice. So what I said earlier please disregard.
I dropped out of the 1K Matches afew years back to do other shooting principles. But I'll be back this year to throw afew downrange. Pete

Wayne.

My own fault, but I admit my faults. I also sign my name and dont hide behind my username if I do screw up!! I made Deep Creek only once last year, shoot at Hamilton Schuetzen mostly.
Last few years have shot , Schuetzen, BPCR silhouette, HBR, Varmint for score, Cast bullet BR. Here are the 1K guns I've owned.
