6BR vs 223

I have been shooting a Savage 12BVSS in a 223 for varmints using the 75 Amax,.435 bc) at 2900fps I want to try my 6BR for varmint it has a 28" 8 twist, what bullet and speed do I need to achieve to shoot something at least as flat or flatter, I can ge the 105Amax to 2800fps,.500) but the 223 seems to be flatter, looking for some bullet suggestions that would make the 6BR more flatter than the 223

I'd try the Berger 95 VLD with Reloader 15. I think you can get it up to 2960,maybe a lot higher--3020 or so). This bullet has very short bearing surface though, so if your throat is too long, you're out of luck if you want to reach the lands.

At 2960 fps, the Berger 95 will drop 24.3" from a 100yd zero at 400 yards. At 3020 fps the 95 will drop 23.1".

By contrast, a 75gr Amax at 2900 will drop 27.00" at 400 yards.

Caculations based on factory BCs, 500' altitude, using Point Blank Software.

Another option is the Berger 80 FB Match. This doesn't have the most impressive BC,.324 BC) but it is a superbly accurate bullet--these puppies will cloverleaf at 200 in a good rifle.

Run the 80s at 3200 and you get 23.6" of drop at 400.

Either combo should shoot "flatter" at 400 than your .223.
