6BR Repeater

I have done a lot of research but have only found two articles on people using or having a 6br in a repeater.All the other info found seems to be on single shots. I found one article on a tube gun repeater and another article on modifying a remington clip which looks like a lot of time and work. Reliable?

I am getting ready to have my next rifle built and I really have my mind set on it to be a 6br repeater, If at all possible with a drop brox magazine .

Any help, advise, experiance, specs and pictures that could help me would be greatly appreciated. Will this build be more of a headache on feeding the 6br than it is worth? Has anyone come up with a custom set up that works flawlessly? I have not fully decided on the action at this but it will not be a remington. The stock will be another McMillian A5

I a budjet of around $4,000 for this build and need as much advise from any one that can help so I can start on this project and have it done right. Thanks

With that budget you can get a nice 6BR repeater,
a Tube Gun from Gary Elisieo.

different actions, and/ or formats. They do repeat.

depends what you intend to do with the rifle? for a hunting rifle get a sako 75 .243/.308/ ect etc and run a 6ppc mag.

Look in the gun of the week there is a 6br repeater that uses a AI mag. Other wise if you like the tube gun you cant beat the above mentioned 6br repeater. I myself am working on a 6br repeater with a AI mag. It will be a couple months before i see all the parts. If you havent picked an action yet you might want to try pierce engineering. Good luck

You'd be hard pressed to beat an Eliseo tube gun if you want a 6BR repeater. I don't know what you want to use it for, but the tube guns are pretty versatile. I've got quite a few of them, and use them for HP (XTC and prone) and my wife has pretty much taken over one of them to use with bag riders for F-class, set a national record with it, and named it "Cupcake". I think I might have lost that one... :'(

Eliseo also makes a "lightweight hunter", though I've never handled one and can't comment on how well adapted to the purpose it is.

The only problem I had with one was a 6BRX that just didn't want to eject reliably. A sako extractor fixed that quite nicely, though.

A shooting buddy of mine rigged up his own mags for an R700 in a conventional stock. They worked, but left something to be desired in the looks department.

That was one of the write ups I found along with the tube rifle. I guess a repeater is not to common or to dificult to build in a standard rifle. I would be using it for 100 and 600 yard shooting along with some deer hunting across beanfields in GA

I also have a Gary Elisio tube gun in 6 dasher using a Pierce action with a Sako extractor. It feeds flawlessly with the 5 round drop magazines. No problems extracting either. Really a great setup. Hope this helps Ray

I have a 6BR repeater based on a Stiller Predator action sitting in a Manners stock. I am using a R+D Precision bottom metal, which fits into the Badger M% inlet and uses AICS magazines. I put an aluminum spacer in the front of the magazine. I did have to tweak the feedlips slightly to get the rounds to sit slightly more proud, but since then the magazine feeds perfectly. I have heard of people having success modifying the polymer 223 AICS magazines as well, however I haven't gone down that path yet. Here's a pic of my rifle prior to a stock swap:

I have fired the 6BR Howa rifle featured here

It uses modified polymer 223 accuracy international magazines and feeds flawlessly.

A repeater 6br on a McMillan A5 would be very nice. Take a close look at the Pierce actions.

I have this 6BRX on its way to me that was just completed by the smith. He did some test firing/feeding for me with a .308 AICS mag, and said it fed really well. If there ends up being any hick-up at all, my plan is to then try one of the .223 poly mags as well to see if it does any better.

Can't wait to get it here and try'er out......

I did a 6 BR on a Sako- 75 with their factory detachable magazine. It Used a factory PPC mag and fed flawlessly.

Any "real world" weight numbers on a Eliseo Light Hunter tube set up for 6BR? Using say a 24", #3 or 4 barrel?

No problem as I spoke to them last night and it seems like the 6br works great in their setup.

Why the heck does'nt someone make mags for these. I would love to build 1 or a 22BR or maybe both I know alot of people shoot these and love them. You can't tell me they won't sell like hot cakes and be on the shelf for long if they where avaliable. It would be nice to call up and get a couple and be able to use them in any of the DBM,s being made and not have to screw with something to get it to work right.
