6br Peterson Brass

I have a bunch of Peterson that I formed into 6BRA (no turn neck). Most is just once or twice fired, but a few have more than a half dozen reloads with one annealing in the middle. It's good stuff. Single digit SD's are typical. Primer pockets are still tight.

Edited to add:
These were bulk packed cosmetic seconds that I picked up at the facility. Full disclosure, I'm partial to Peterson since they used to sponsor me when the still produced loaded 6XC ammo.

Buy with confidence.

The Last 650 Peterson have had a Flare at end of neck .002- to .003, . .265 at back of neck to .268 at top. Weights Have Varried Up to 6 grains in 2 different Lots . I Resize all prior to fire forming

I really appreciate all of the comments in this thread as I’m going to be building two 6br’s on 700 actions when the barrels I ordered from Northland Shooters finally get here (Jim says 12-20 weeks lead time). In anticipation, I got 200 rounds of the Peterson 6br brass from Grafs, and although I can’t comment on the performance yet, I got 200 rounds of their 7br brass two years ago that have impressed me. I weigh my brass and the 200 rounds are divided into 4 groups of 50. Weight in each group varies .2-.2.5 grains. That’s a tighter range than I ever got with Lapua or Norma (though the Norma brass for my 25/06 varies .5 grains, not bad for brass that size).

Just getting started with Peterson brass for my 30BR. This was the second loading.

Great shooting Bill! Did you do any special prep to the brass, other than the normal for 30BR as opposed to Lapua?

No special prep. Necked up. Turned necks to .098. Chamfer & Debur mouths. Run thru the neck bushing die. .323..Prime, load & shoot. F/L size for second firing. Bump shoulders back .0015. Tumble in rice. Wipe with cloth. Repeat load process.

Fat fingered and missed a zero. Thanks.
i tried necking up 6br peterson brass and it turned it in to pistol brass. neck shoulder crushed down into case body. greased using a tapered sizing mandrel that i have used on lapua with no problems necking it up for 30br. norma worked fine. is there a certain procedure for peterson brass. maybe turning some off before sizing up.

I used a K & M mandrel and applied the Lee white lubricant in a tube to the mandrel and inside the case necks. I have much better luck when expanding using it. I think I lost one case but I may not have lubed it properly. I normally move the press handle slow with constantly applying more pressure going down. Seems to work good for me.
