6BR Norma brass

Like most guys are finding out the Lapua brass hasn't hit the shelves yet. I'm in the middle of building up a 6mmBr .271nk, and a 22BR with a .254nk and I'm at the point where I needed to supply the smith with a few loaded rounds to test for function. With the Lapua not readily available I bought a 100rnds of Norma to build up some rounds to test fire with. I know the Lapua seems to be the choice of most because of quality and price. My question is, is it actually better than the Norma, or just cheaper. My experience with Norma is that it's top shelf stuff. I'm sure I'll lay in a stock of Lapua once it's available, but is it actually better. Like to hear from someone that shoots both.

Chuck, I shoot a lot of both. I have sets of both types that have been loaded 12 to 15 times and there is no real difference. Primer pockets are a tiny bit looser on the Norma at this point but not enough to worry about. You have good brass there.

Chuck. Check with www.gunstop.com if you need Lapua brass. I sent a email order about 1 1/2 weeks ago and got a reply that my order had been shipped.:D Just last week it showed up.,200 ea)Lapua has been backordered at 3 different places that I tried.
I had gotten some Norma brass just in case.,Midway) Got both loaded up and am waiting for my barrel to show up. Need to set OAL to the new throat and it's off to the range.
I was just about to ask the same question that you asked! I know what I am going to do. I'll shoot both and see what results I come up with. Lapua has the small flash holes and Norma has the larger holes. I have decapping pins to fit both so I don't think I'll be running out of brass for quite a while! ;) Mike.
