6BR New Laupa Brass Prep

Ok, I have purchases some New Laupa 6BR Norma Brass, I have read that I need to run an 6mm mandrel down the brass to take out dents and it shapes the neck for concentricity. As I have never done this procedure on new brass before I suspect I need to lube the cases before running them into the mandrel. I have Imperial wax and some imperial dry neck lube. What is better to use for this procedure, If the die wax is better how do you get the leftover residue out of the inside of the necks after sizing? Is the die wax easier on the mandrel?

I have read the 6BR for newbies and I am looking forward to loading and shooting my new 6BR and developing loads to shoot hopefully small groups so I can compete against some guys with 6PPC's in some local competitions..

Thanks for your guidence

I just hit the necks with Hornaday One shot, run them over a K&M mandrel and load them. They shoot great for me, but my expectations may be lower than many.

Place imperial wax on the mandrel and inside the case necks. I use a Q tip for application and a clean one for removal. If you plan on turning the necks leave it in the necks until neck turning is complete.

The Shiraz/Norma brass shows a lot of promise in the testing I've done. Make sure you do a search on the forum here to read about fire forming it.

Edit: I was thinking the new Norma Dasher Brass. Still recommend you approach your 1st and 2nd firing with lighter loads in an effort to get longer brass life.

Good shooting and good luck against those PPCs

run them in a die, or mandrel with one shot, load in increments of 29-31.5 gr of Varget with 105gr bullets and have fun. it will be a super accurate, easy gun to shoot once you get the load down.
