6BR Neck Size Problem

I'm new to reloading for the 6BR. I'm using a Arbor Press with a Wilson neck die and bullet seating die. My fired cases are sticking in the neck sizing die, need a screw driver to remove the brass.,Not much pressure required to dislodge it) Although they chamber well in my rifle. My Question: Should I use lube on the brass? Should I get a shoulder bump die and run the fired brass through it before attempting the neck sizing? This does not happen with new, unfired Lapua brass. Need recommendation on a shoulder bump die if that would be the solution. I'm working on a load for Prairie Dogs. So far the 65 gr V-Max with Varget did not perform very well in my 1-10 twist. I have some 75 gr and 87 gr V-Max to try.

your seater need the be polished more on the inside, so it will drop out. At some time you will need to FL size. Redding "S" FL die are very good. Harrell's makes a die that will fit your chamber, just send them some fired cases. they are the powder measure people. I like there's the best. Try VV N135, & AA2460 for your light bullets.

After you size the neck and knock the primer out, flip the die and set the decapper rod on the base of the press and bring the press plunger down to catch the side of the bottom of the die. Press it down and the decapper will push the case out enough where you can grip the case head and pull it out the rest of the way. Also you can take a plastic or rawhide mallet and smack the decapping rod while holding the die in your hand....case will pop right out. Now if the case is sticking in the seater die, you need to FL size the case or send 3 fired cases to Wilson with the seater die and they will slightly open the die to your case size. Also clean and polish the inside of both dies for better extraction.

Popsicle stick under the rim works like a charm for me. But if you are experiencing more "grip" you may need something stronger to pry it out.

I'm looking at my original post and telling myself "I didn't type that." I guess that is why guys like me do more lurking and less posting. I am able to neck size and decap without a problem. What I meant to say was, When seating a bullet with the Wilson seating die the brass will stick. I need to pry on the web of the brass to break it loose. Sorry for my state of confusion. I will try to polish the inside of the seating die and if that fails to correct the problem I will get a FL resizing die. I will need one soon anyway.

Same thing happens to me with the SEATER. The fit is tight enough on my brass that I get a vacuum lock. Try the popsicle stick trick or a small piece of plastic.

Caver, the solution is simple and cheap. Send 3 fired cases and $6.75 for postage to L.E.Wilson and they will hone the seater for a perfect fit. I've had them do several seaters and neck dies and they have all come back with a perfect fit.
