6BR Loads

I have a 6BR finally finished from my gun smith. I will be going to the range hopefully this and want to try a few different combinations. It is a 28" Bartlin barrel with a 8 twist. I am only going to use 105 Bergers in it. If anyone can share some of there best load info. with various powders using the 105's with the 8 twist barrel I would appreciate it

Do a search for this on this forum and there is tons of imfo and threads to look at including the homepage under 6mmbr. You can also look at all the powder manufacturers websites under there reloading imfo for lots of starting points.

Yup checked them out a while ago, was wondering if there were and sweet loads that someone had found that worked for them.

I load Lapua Blue Box, turned to .001 neck tension loaded with 28.9 grains of Varget behind a 107 grain Sierra MK with bullets seated .012 off the lands.
My rifle is 6BR Norma, 1:8 twist.
That's my "sweet load" - but I doubt it will be yours. No two rifles perform exactly the same with the same load.

I was shooting 30.0 grains of varget with 107 sierra with wolf srm primers and lapua brass--great load. switched to berger 105 vlds and went to 30.3 grains varget with bullets jammed .015 itl. now shoot imr 4320 with 105 hybrid jammed .015 itl--I started my charge at 30.0 and worked up from there to my current load (will not say--it is up there) accuracy got better as I increased powder charge. Krieger 5R 1-8" .236 bore with .112 FB .271nk 27.25" long.

Every rifle is different. Mine likes 105 Berger VLD's pushed by 30gr of Varget and lit off by a Remington 7 1/2 primer. With a new barrel I'd start at 29 grs of Varget and work up.

As CCI continues to raise their price on the BR4's, I have switched to CCI 450's. $50 per 1000 versus $30 per thousand.

I should have started using the 450's years ago: they are excellent with Varget.

I would start at 29.0grs of Varget and work towards 30.5grs.. (watch for any pressure signs).. 105Hybrids usually like it about 15K off... 105 Scenars usually like them "set into the lands" about 7-8K... Varget "generally" prefers CCI 450 primers... There are very few rifles that LOVE a certain load (powder charge, bullet, seating depth etc..etc..) and you can transfer that exact load to another rifle and have it shoot to the same accuracy level>>>you NEED to find out what YOUR rifle prefers...
