6BR LOADS

HI IM NEW TO THIS. I BEEN A 6BR SHOOTER FOR OVER 10 YEARS! I FOUND THIS SITE AND WAS LOOKING AROUND AND LOOKING AT LOADS AND STUFF AND WAS VERY SUPRIZED TO NOT SEE RL10X POWDER NOT BEING USED IN LISTED LOADS.I HAVE SHOT EVERY POWDER AND PRIMER/BULLET COMBINATION OUT THERE AND HAVE VERY! VERY! GODD RESUALTS WITH RL 10X POWDER. YOU SHOULD KNOW IM ON MY SECOND 6BR SHOT THE FIRST ONE OUT AND HAVE OWNED SEVERAL TOP SMITH MADE 22 AND 6PPC AND WOULD CHOOSE THE 6BR OVER ANY OF THEM. I LOAD LAUPA CASE,CCI 450(ONLY),65GR V-MAX RL 10X 30.5 GRS MUZZLE VELOCITY 3,515 TO 3,530. 24" TUBE 1-14 TWIST GROUPS IN MID 2S. SAME LOAD WITH 66GR HAND MADE CUSTOM BULLET SHOOTS IN ONE'S THATS RIGHT LOW ONE'S
ANY ONE WITH ANY INFO OR FEED BACK FOR ME.

Turn off your cap lock. It's considered shouting on the interwebz.

I also shoot a 14 twist 6BR but I setteled on H322 with the 65 VMAX. I started using it in my .223 some years back and had a bunch laying around so I tried it in the 6 BR and it worked so I haven't changed. I also have an 8 twist 6 BR that likes Reloader 15 and Varget with 87 VMAX and 105 Nosler CC.

The suggested load combinations on this sites 6BR page, N135 for medium weight bullets, and the ever dependable Varget for the "heavies" have served me so well I see no reason to "change" ( there's that word again/ who said that?). N133 has been my choice for the lightweight bullets (70 grs. & under) in both the 6ppc and the 14 twist 6BR's. ;)

I only shoot 105-108 bullets in 6BR and have found RL17 provides the best overall results. I am currently obtaining 3030 fps from a 30" barrel with 105 Lapua Scenar molys. RL10X is too fast for my application.

In other small calibers, I agree with Jerr. H322 has been a reliable, tolerant performer for many years. YMMV

O i have a whole can of N133 and you can have it, Im just saying that with all my testing(alot of it) i have shot every powder and bullet out of a 1-14 twist,to the place where i key holed bullets at 100yrd to pushing 68gr ers at 3,650fps and have found RL 10X to be a very very good powder, like a say a 65gr v-max at 3,515 to 3,530 ES. groups in the low to mid 2's with the v-max and groups in the low to mid ones with 66gr customs. I find it hard to belive that nobody else has had similar success with it as being a top performing powder in the 6br thats all im trying to say!

As a matter of fact i have a can of just about every powder you can name,322,n133,n135,ramshot tac,RL15,varget,benchmark,H335,one i liked in the 22ppc-AA2460,even shot H380 alot of shooting and testing hey that is the fun of it for me,But once i tryed the RL 10x i have never looked back. the best hot weather loads were with H335 for the days when the temp was in the mid 90's and every thing was shooting bad H335 held in the mid 2's. H322 shoots good groups but made pressure before good velocity and was inconsistent-you dont want to shoot H322 if you are trying to out shoot a 6ppc.Hey thats just my experience, but thats been two different rifles, two different chambers, one a .262 an one a .269.Boy im going out on a limb here but im also the guy who said if you want conistent groups or very small groups you must use the cci 450 primer. I got that info from a 6br shooter who has had a 6br for say @20+years.i have tryed all primers and the cci450 is a fact!So not trying to get you guys to change your ways, just seems to work well and would think someone else would have similar results.

CCI 450s have worked well for me, too. But I have obtained similar grouping and velocity with half the ES/SD from Wolf KVB-5.56M. As you say, different rifles, different loads.

The Small Russian Magnum primers have given me the lowest SD's and spreads of any primer ever used in my 6br's.... along with very small groups that didn't show up with CCI's 450 primer...
To each his own I guess...

O im not a benchrest shooter,Im willing to try something new. What brand of primer is that you speek of and where can i get them?. I would try them but in all my testing the cci 450 has been the most consistant.Understand that is not to say i havent had good groups or good ES,or speed with other primers. Its just from day to day, week to week and so on the any load that shot well with the cci 450 stayed there no matter what(execpt for a big gust of wind).
