6br load?

What is a good powder for the 6br with 58-60 gr. bullet? I know a gentlemen who uses 34.0 gr. of AA2230 with a 58-Vmax bullet. Is this not an extremely hot load? (I have a 1-14 twist barrel).

I don't have a 6br chamber anymore, but when I did H322 was always solid with the light bullets.

We use 34 gr H322 with our 55-58 gr in 10 twist kreigers (3850 fps)

H 4198 or Ramshot Xterminator, I use for volume loading for PD, With a 55 Nosler, 58 Hornady or a 62 berger. PRICELESS........

Please remember to work up slowly because depending how tight your barrel is you should drop 10 percent minimum to be safe as pressure can rear its ugly head quite fast depending on your gun and chamber.

AA2230 is magic in my 6BR, also 14" twist. The load with 58's is well over 34.0gr. Be aware that AA2230 isn't necessarily gonna be the same from lot to lot. It can vary noticeably.....not just velocity but more important, most accurate velocity. I discovered that with stuff that was made about 10yrs apart. So you can't compare your load/velocity to what a reloading manual says or what someone else is using. Start well into safe territory and find your own best place. It's still the best powder I've used in the 6BR, 55 to 65gr bullets.

I took Ackmans advice and ran A2230 in my 14twist with 58's and I got smoking velocity with great accuracy.

I shoot 33gr of IMR 8208 with a 65gr V-Max, 14" twist. It yields 3540 fps and shoots in the low 2's.
