6BR 14 TWIST

I am a big fan of the 14T 6BR I have had a few of them. 8208 was my go to with a 70Gr SBK around 3,550 FPS
great on hogs even out 500-600 Yards. But have shot many .160 ish 5 shot groups with many different BR bullets even shot mine in a few Unregistered BR group and score match. I have shot with Nelson Berger in a few of them Matches some years back. I did well in the matches with mine. Never won but there was always someone saying wow he has a good shooting BR after a few nice groups I posted. I also had a 6PPC that was capable of winning a match easy and I never did. Just not a good enough shooter.

There is very little discussion of slow twist 6BR on here for some reason. I just got a Kreiger 13.5 barrel and chambered it for a zero FB. Here is a work up for LT 32 and 4 thou jam. I never hit pressure. I think there is a node at 33.5 and should be right at 4000 FPS.

I have had a few 14T 6BR As I have said. I really enjoyed mine. RL10x about 30.0-30.5 grs with a good 66 gr BR bullet. I had good luck with most of them. Bart's 66grs shot well for me or any of the 65-68 gr BR bullets.
If you slow them loads down to around 3,450 FPS it will shoot in a hole. Try like .010 off touch and tweek from there.
Any time I got above 3,500 FPS groups opened up. Good enough for hunting and not saying you can't hit a load that works well above that but I think if you slow it down around 3,450 or slightly under it will shoot better. That has been my experience with the few I have had. Back in the old days I had 70 gr Berger MEF's with H322 about 3,200 FPS and they would shoot low .200's regular like. I think RL10 was my best shooting powder. 8208 XBR, Really any thing from H322 to H380 shoots decent. AA2460 shot some 65V Max's in the 3,600's decent. H335 for hot weather. LT32 shot good also. For hunting the speed is great but just to shoot groups I would slow it down and see what you get.

I have found that LT 32 and R10x are very, very close. And my lot of LT32 is really the same speed as my AA2015, or within a few tenths.

Of course, these were the 55 grain loads. I was just trying to see how fast they would go.

This is a target with the 70 TNT bullets I bought in bulk. You can see the node is 3323 FPS. That would be the node I would use at 29.9 LT32. I have 500 of the Barts Avengers to test now. I have not been shooting my 6BR because it has been crazy hot and humid here, but I hope to do a grid this weekend with the Avengers.
