6br lapua brass???

Mark,
I sure hope your right, I told Dave Kiff exactly what I was doing and he suggested the .104 free bore for the 105-108 vld style bullets, I won't be very happy if I am much past the n/k shoulder junction.

DaveBerg,
There are three boxes of 6br in the cardboard box on classifiesd right now and 91 rounds of the same lot in various stages of there fired life, over three boxes of the same lot would just about out last the barrels you have, better jump on it ;)

You've obviously never seen my barrel inventory. I've gone through five boxes of 6 BR brass just getting four rifles with two barrels each ready for spring.

And by my calculations he's trying to get around $100/box for the new brass which may or may not be from the same lot (little confusion there with Lot Number and Part Number).

Yes sir your right I haven't seen your barrel inventory or anything else you own as to my knowledge we have not met as of yet. Also I am perfectly well aware of the price of new 6br Lapua brass and the price the seller wants for his brass, I was just trying to be helpful. When I want something price is the least of my concerns, availability and the speed in which it arrives is far more important to me than a few $. DaveBerg I wish you a very successful and gratifying season.
Respectfully Wayne.

I purchased some 6br NORMA brass this weekend. Measure 1.551 length with neck of .0130 to.0135 with a loaded 70 grain Sirra it is .2685 to .269. Brass is shorter than blue box lapua. This current production brass. Just want to share this everyone. A .272 neck should beideal with this brass. I hope the length is not an issue. Hope this helps. Take it for what it's worth.

areaone,
Thanks for the info, I had my reamer cut @ .269 so I could do just a light cleanup and shoot. How was the concentricity of your new loaded rounds? let us know how they shot compared to your Lapua.

i am not sure what to take from this post. you have varmint hunters who are concerned about a couple thousandths neck clearance but are not concerned about shooting a varmint bullet that is held to lesser standards. then you have a competition shooter who used 250 pieces of brass to get 8 barrels ready for the season. VERY conservatively, that would be 10 firing per case. that comes out to over 300 rounds per barrel. i would be MUCH more concerned that i couldnt find a suitable load before then. how many of you that are belly aching about the brass clearance have checked the runout of your chamber? if we did not have the capability to measure such things, there would still be hummers and bummers with this new brass but everyone would still be happy. it is human nature i think to find fault and eventually the disgust will move on to something different. if any of you have some USELESS 6br reamers set up for a .272 nk you want to get rid of, please let me know . i will take one with both short and long throats for different bullets. they have to be new though since any wear on them would certainly create havoc somewhere down the line. for those of you who turn necks anyway, why do you care if you are turning an extra .001 as long as you can do it in one pass? bottom line. lapua brass is the best. use it as it is or find second best. i am serious about the reamers! ;D

dave,

the amount you get to shoot is quite impressive. there isnt much interest in my area for any kind of distance shooting so all i can do is sit here green with envy.
