6br deer bullet options

So I've got a 8 twist 6br that id like to hunt with this year. It's a 22" barrel. All shots are 300 and in. I was thinking about the sierra 85bthp or a sierra 85 spt varminter.

However, I read on a different forum that some thought the 85bthp was too tough a bullet for the slower speed of the 6br?

Questions. Would you disagree with the bullet choices, and if so what would you use?

Thanks fellas

Back when I was hunting with a 243 I used the Nosler 90 gr. Accubond. It always did the job with all of my shots being 150 yds. and back in.

If all the shots are 300 yards or in, I would use the sierra 100gr game kings or the pro-hunters

I think if you use anything other than a Barnes TTSX you are not using the best 6mm bullet. Kids here shoot a lot of deer and I have tried several bullets back in the day for them. After trying the TTSX I don’t think I will ever change. Expand well and usually pass through. Shot them in Dashers and .243. Also great in any 6.5.

Yup,. the 87 gr Berger H-VLD is,.. a "Killer" and,.. VERY accurate !
My grandson has shot, 2 Large, Heavy Bodied / hvy Horned, Desert Mulies with, them.
One at, 227 yds One at, 268 yds and Both,. DRT ! ( Lungs,. Jello ! )
We Use, N-160 and .070 bullet "Jump" in, a 1-10 twist Tikka, .243 Win. at, 3,135 FPS ( Sub 1/2 MOA ! ).
His last One, a 30+ inch, 4 x 5 looks Awesome, in his Bedroom !!

I like a good TSX also!

In case anyone else as interested, I contacted sierra, and a rep told me minimum 1800 FPS is needed for reliable expansion. So that was good to hear!
