6BR Ackley Improved ..same as Dasher ????

Can anyone please tell me if the 6 Dasher is the same as a 6BR Ackley Improved ????
I am having my first custom dog gun built on a Remington LVSF and want to go with the AI...but cannot find dies listed anywhere.

New to this game, and still finding my way around.

Dasher is a 40-degree shoulder, shorter neck. There are many slightly different variants. They all work pretty well. The BRDX has nearly a full neck, but 40-deg shoulder and less body taper.

I suggest you go with a Dasher or BRX. Dasher dies are available now from Redding. For the BRX you use 6BR seater and neck-sizing dies. A custom die is a good option for FL sizing the entire case, but some guys get away with using a .243 Win Body die to size their cases.

6BR Improved is a very nice way to fly. Gets you to 3050 fps very efficiently with the 105s, where they like to run. It is extremely accurate--all the way to 1000.

Ok...so now with this 1 in 13 twist barrel from Lilja should I run 55 Noslers or heavier ?? I'm going to be using this rig for coyotes and they are usually on the run...so speed is of the essence, but once in a while I'll get a few that like to hang out around 400 yards or so. I bought two of these Rem LVSF in .22-250 with the intent of doing a 6BR on one. It's gonna have to be a real shooter to better the 250 as it has nocked down almost a hundred dogs so far !! I like to think of it as my mini Sendero.

I'm leaning towards the Dasher then, I think that might be right up my alley !!! I had already seen the link you posted, but was unsure if they were or are one in the same, dasher v.s. A.I. )

Thanks for the reply

I think if you are looking for speed in 6mm then instead of br or brx then probably a 6mm remington ackley improved, way different then a 6br ai. it is either from 6mm remington fire formed or 7x57 steped by 6.5x 284 then steped to 6mm then fire formed or custom die. supposedly has pretty good barrel life when compared to the 243 ai.

No I'm kinda stuck on the BR route. I have seen some pretty impressive stuff...accuracy wise, long distance, and speed ....plus I am building 2 guns actually the Rem LVSF is wearing a 26 fluted Lilja with a 13 twist, and I am converting my Savage 12VSS into a 1 in 8twist for launching some VLD Bergers out at the 800 - 1000yds.
These are my very first custom guns so I am pretty excited about it.

The 75gr would be my choice and with the velocity increase from the BRX you can probaly even shot the 80 or 85gr bullets .

I'm shooting a Dasher and loving it! But the BrAi is nice in that you can just load and shoot without having to worry about false shoulders or jamming bullets. The chamber is cut 3-4thou shorter than the 6br so you get a crush fit on the shoulder.

The 6 Dasher with 55gr. bullets will do 4000 fps. with H335 or AA2230.

In my experience, shooting coyotes may require a fast followup shot (or 2). Smooth magazine feeding matters lot more than the Nth degree of accuracy and speed (after all, you'll be holding over with anything at 400 yards). IMO, you'll be better off with your .22-250s (maybe with a faster twist barrel for the heavier, higher-BC bullets) than with any BR-based wildcat.

The BR cases can be finicky to feed out of a magazine (although see my Kelbly Atlas Tactical 22BR coyote rifle below), and I would think twice before chambering a coyote rifle for anything that requires fireforming. Sure, you can shoot coyotes with fireforming loads, but why bother? If you need more speed just use a bigger case with some taper that will feed smoothly out of magazine.

Here's what I decided to do, since 99% of my coyote hunting is 350 yards and under (average shot less than 100 yards), and I like to be able to see my hit (and misses!) through the scope:
