You would be hard pressed to get 3000 f/s out of a 6BR. 2900 with RL15 would be more likely. Some can get it but most are on the edge of pressure problems.

I did the 6XC, and could not get it to shoot, and could not get the speed. I read that I could get 3100 f/s with ease, but was hard pressed to get 3000.

I now shoot the 6BRX. I can run up to 3050, but it shoots better around 2975 to 3000 f/s.

I had the IBS 600 yds LG record 0.749 in 2007', until it was broken by another 6BRX 0.711' in 2008.

You can read about all the speeds you can get, but your barrel may not get what you want. Don't worry about your speed, run where they shoot.

I like the 6BR imps because you can more speed without pushing things to the limit. I would go with the 6BRX or the 6 Dasher, there is not a dime differeces between the two. Both are proven winners at long range.

I've owned and shot the 6BR, 6 Dasher and 6XC. The 6BR was fun but 2,920fps was the best it would do with the 107SMK's, 30.8 grains of RL-15 and a F205M. When I switched to the 105 VLD's, 30.6 grains of Varget and the CCI450's my accuracy went through the roof but velocity went down to 2,830. My Tactical 6XC shoots the 105VLD's at 3,050fps with 38.2 grains of H4350 and the WLR primers, accuracy has been outstanding, mid .2's is the norm. I recently built a 6 Dasher and with the 105VLD's, 33 grains of Varget and the CCI450's I'm around 3,000fps and accuracy that rivals the 6BR. For a bench rifle, the Dasher or BRX would be hard to look away from based on what I've seen. The 6XC is a fun rifle but, it won’t run with a properly tuned Dasher in BR. Good luck.
