65gr vmax loads and velocity

Well i have been getting around 3,500 Fps MV with 30.5gs RL10 and a cci 450 primer, and that seems to be a super accurate load, try it and see... now you can shoot just about any powder and get that kind of speed.
H322, Vn135,Vn133,varget,RL15,.8208xbr. just to list some of the powders that will give you that kind of velocity and more.but i dont think they shoot very accuraterly over 3,600FPS and its a very very hot load to push them over 3,600FPS MV. I think you may find Vn133 and RL10 give great velocity and accuracry,RL10 seems to be more consistant in the accuracry dept than any of the powders i listed. but im fond of Vn133 and RL15 also. 8208xbr seems to work better with a 70gr ball..but has a big ES that i could not get rid of.
all this from a 24" tube..

thanks FJIM thats good data! i would like to stick with hogdon powders as they are made here, easy to get and very temp stable. i read a lot of guys run varget with heavy stuff and i have plenty of that on hand. was also thinking benchmark might be ok???

I am shooting lapua brass in a zero freebore chamber, 7 1/2's, AA2230, velocity is in the 3650-3700 fps area with a 27" barrel, 1-12 twist. Bug holes at 200.

Another load is 33g of N133 with the 65's, tiny groups...have not clocked them yet.

Ramshot X-Terminator and 68gn Bergs, Barts etc @ 3500 fps does real well.
I'd like to try some of that AA 2230 myself.

N-133
N-135
Benchmark
All have shot very tight.

Ramshot X and HBN shoots the tightest with no need to clean the barrel during the season. ;)

I shoot 30.5 grains of N133 using a CCI450 Primer, and I get awesome velocity with this load, I have a 1 in 12" twist and this load clocks 3520 fps out of my 27.5" barrel. One of the most accurate and definitely most explosive bullet i have shot out of the 6mm BR.

FWIW One season I used 58gn V-Max for 200yd egg shoots in the same 6BR.
Little chunky bullets look like they should'nt shoot but they do.
Very explosive on eggs compared to a match bullet. Even with muffs and nine other benches shooting you can hear a pronounced Thwack with every hit. Vaporised!! Match bullets just pop the egg with no sound. Them little V's made them completly disappear into a vapor mist. Great fun.

I have tried most of them, Nosler's Ballistic Tips in both 55 and 70 grain offerings. Out of those both shoot well, if your chasing after velocity the 55 grain bullet is hard to beat and it shoots well with AA2230. The 70 grain Bullets from either Sierra or Nosler shoot really well for me with either N135 or Varget and work well on the windy days. The Hornady's do well too, With the 58's I got a killer load that is doing 3850 fps with AA2200 and shoots bug-holes, and the 65's are one of my favorites for Varmint acrobatics on Prairie dogs and likesize critters. The 55 grain Sierra Blitzking gave me great groups and is one of the best shooters out there, but I have found its terminal performance better suited to coyotes and larger varmints as the terminal prformance on Prairie dogs is almost the same as target bullets. If you have a 1 in 12" the 80 grain berger shoots lights out with Varget and N135. Berger's 68 grain Target bullet is a great do it all bullet for the slow twist's. It gives me great accuracy and does pretty decent on the terminal side as well, the best powder being N135 for me.
