600 yd. target size-new shooter

I'm planning to order a round steel gong target to shoot at 600-750 yds. I'll be shooting a 6br./107 MK, and 223AI/80 MK. I've had experience shooting at 400 yds. and have shot some 2" 10 shot groups at that range, but haven't shot longer ranges. My question is what size target would ya'll recommend Iget to start shooting at that range? 8",10",12"?
I have no experiece shooting in wind. Justin wanting to get some experience and build confidence.
thanks

If you're going to practice shooting in the wind at 600 + yards get the biggest gong you can carry. I would suggest that you work with paper tagets too because when shooting at a gong you either hit it or you don't. Knowing WHERE you miss can be more important than knowing where you hit. Marking the bullet ogive with colored magic markers will let you plot your shots and give them some meaning under different wind conditions. Good luck.

Hi Justin as Ray said the bigest you can cary paint it evry time you place it up so you can see the fresh bullet strikes i also use a large 6' square behind a gong past 500 yards if its windy place it 5' behind the target so you dont get splatter and you can then spot your misses on the paper and your hits will sound out. Then when you have your Zero keep mooving back until you run out of range or cant hit it any more.
