600 yd match at Goodwill, LA

Rick Mulhearn, I too am a fan of the old '06 but have gotten too old to shoot it in competition. Why don't you bring yours to Goodwill on Saturday, October 17th and shoot the 600 yard match. The match starts at 8:30 and there are 20 shots for record and unlimited sighters. We have been averaging 30+ shooters and there are two classes....factory and custom. Come join in the fun. James Mock

James, Goodwill doesn't show on my map. Might be moving to Alex looking for a place to shoot next year.

James I want to thank you for the invite but I can't make any shoots. I've got four grandsons....all of whom are playing baseball and football and betwixt Fall football games we now have Fall baseball games to attend and frankly....the road time is wearing me out! Attended a game at St. Frederick's High School this past Saturday morning; wind blowing like onto a Banshee and very cool. Two days later....I was recovering from sore throat and coughing and couldn't hardly make myself heard when talking! You shoot prone matches up there or are these bench matches? And as you know....I'm a hunter and will soon be spending some time in Kansas. Delaying a trip or two already because of ball games! My grandson's give me 'what for' when I don't show up so I'm rather betwixt the proverbial rock and the hard place! I can't shoot prone anymore; got two herniated disc in my lower back that just won't let me do it!

Thanks for the invite! :)

The range has a website... it is named Howard Prince Memorial Range and I believe that its mailing address is Pioneer, LA. The range is located about half way between the villages of Goodwill, LA and Pioneer, LA. It is west of Pioneer and SE of Goodwill. As Rick stated it is NE of Rayville and also is SW of Oak Grove....the Parish Seat of West Carroll Parish. Good shooting...James Mock PS- here is a photo of the firing line with 20 benches.
