6 PPC Sako Freebore

Can someone tell me what the freebore is on the 6 PPC Sako (.270) reamer? And what is the best brass to use with this reamer, Lapua or Norma? I have Lapua 220 Russian brass.

PPC-USA?

I do not know the freebore but I think the Sako PPC factory guns were all PPC-USA and a diagram should tell you.

If you are using a PPC-USA then either brass will work. I have used both on 22 and 6 PPC-USA.

If the reamer is a USA spec then you can also locate some PPC USA brass.

Maybe all this is way off base but I thought it MIGHT help.

It’s not .270, it’s more like .273 but check yours

I never bothered to measure but on mine I could just engage the lands using Sierra 70s MK just barely seated in the mouth of brass 1.515 long.

I agree. The USA chamber on my Sako wants a heavier (longer) bullet than the twist of barrel will spin adequately - but it still shoots.
