maddysdad,

In my latest 6 Dasher I shoot 32.5gr. Varget, CCI-450 and 87gr. V-max. Getting 2950 from a 22" barrel. Not a max load in my gun, but work up to it. Will agg. .250 -.350 when the driver is doing his job. Awesome long range coyote or rockchuck load. Hope this helps.

Regards, Paul.

I have been messing around with Berger 80 FB Varmints trying to come up with a short range target/groundhog-vaporizing load in my Stiller with a 28" Bartlein. 33.8 RL 15 is right around 3280fps and shot in the upper .2's to mid .3's. On a whim I tried 32.5 N135, which recorded a sizzling 3390fps but grouped in the mid .4's, mostly vertical. No signs of pressure, but don't think I will try that again, at least without dropping a full grain and working back up. :) I am using BR4 primers and Lapua brass. Next I am going to try some 8208, but if I don't see anything obviously better than the RL15 then I am done, trying to keep the round count low on the barrel.

I shot 38g of WC844 with a 60g Berger at 3800 fps, wicked on p. dogs, chucks, jacks out to 400 yards. 38.5 gave 3850 fps...go figure which I considered a max load in my rifle with Rem 6 BR brass(junk). I jammed the lands hard and groups were in the 1's. Standard deviation on this load was single digits.

Work up to this load in your rifle, mine was an 11" twist.
