6 dasher shell holder, Redding #1? Or special type needed.

Getting set up for my first dasher.

Got three Brux 26” spun up for Curtis Vector by Ray Bowman in NC. Got hydroformed Lapua brass from Hunts Long Range. 105 hybrids. Forgot about shell holder, might have over looked as I have Redding 1 for 6 creed, and might have saw same listed for Dasher on Redding chart.

Just double checked, and see #1 listed, but different letter by dasher vs 6 creed. Searched old post, looks specific to Norma, but Bullets.com was having special dasher holders made. What do I need for Lapua? Thanks guys.

Anything that suits .308 boldface..

I use an RCBS #2 for Lapua brass. Your Redding equivalent for the 308 size brass should work.

There was a special shell holder made by Redding, that was use for the 1st generation of the Norma 6 Dasher brass.

Youre using lapua brass. Disregard the bullets.com norma dasher stuff. Get a shellholder for 308

I like the Lee shellholders becsuse of the way the deck has a scoop machined at the entrance of the groove that facilitates ctg insertion,,,it guides the ctg into the device,,,

yes 308 fits fine in the RCBS #3

The Lapua brass fits:

Lee #2
Whidden Hydroform die case holder
21st century priming tool case holder

just not the RCBS

My RCBS #3 shell holders work with Lapua 6br, 6.5x47L, 6 Norma Dasher F class brass, Lapua 243/308 etc just fine. It Will NOT work with the 1st generation 6 Norma Dasher brass.

Ok problem solved.

Defective shell holder.

Ordered a replacement RCBS #3 and it works like it should. Crazy. Bad machining. Sent the bad one back.

It was only the original Norma brass that had the thicker rims. You had to use a shell holder for a 30-30 to fit over that thing.

Unless you use that Norma stuff, shell holder is not an issue.
