6 Dasher Question

Been searching and can not find the answer to my question so I will ask. I have a couple dashers and building another, have had good lock fire forming using the COW method but wanted to try something different this go around. I think I read somewhere on here where some was using a full load of powder no bullet and hold barrel up and fire. I of coarse have the false shoulder formed already. Anyone doing this are do I have my wires crossed? Any help wound be appreciated.

I tried that and it didn't work as good as Cow. Cases were shorter.

Even after the 2nd firing? I get about 80% formed with the COW then turn necks, load standard BR load with junk bullets and finish forming with that. Just thought I would try something different. Hate the smell of the COW also.

I have used Bullseye or Titewad powder at 11 or 12 grains with 1/4 sheet toilet tissue wadded up and pushed all the way to hold small charge against the primer. I now have a hydro form die and thats the best solution.

Just went and measured 2 out of the last batch, and are 1.548" and 1.550"
