6 Dasher, BRX, 6CM,6SLR

I rechambered my first Dasher barrel at 2538 rounds.
It won a 600 yd score match the day I retired it.
Group size was creeping up.

After rechambering it still shoots fine for prarie dogging.

I think what shortens barrel life is improper or lack of cleaning. I watch people cleaning the life out of their barrels,no bore guide or no insert in it. Never clean off the rod, bending the rod, coating off the rod. You name it and wonder why the barrel quit shooting........ jim

Well I will give you that one Jim, I have seen all that myself.

Wayne, I can only compare the barrel life i get,and i have not worn out a barrel to the point it would not shoot in less than a 1/4 min. I have a new barrel that doesn't shoot in the wind so it's a fire form barrel and it will shoot in the ones at 100yds. if the wind doesn't blow. The point is there are so many factors that enter in to the life of the barrel. Heat and cleaning are the big ones, round count is a product of these.... jim

I tend to agree on all that you stated Jim, not arguments here.
Wayne.

So how many rounds before a cleaning then with these heavy 6's? When do you guys clean for carbon etc to get longer barrel life?

Donovan,

I thought there was something special. Lol. I clean every 50 rounds. It doesnt typically need much so i dont get to agressive. Thought maybe im cleaning to often.
