6 dasher brass necks not stretching after resizing

I could use some help in understanding what is going on. My 6 dasher brass, Alpha brass is 6 times fired. I have trimmed after each resizing and many cases in the neck area grows a bit. I try to keep all my brass the same length.

Lately, after resizing (one thou shoulder bump back), the brass does not seem to lengthen. I am using a Whidden FL sizing die.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Probably a good sign your sizing die matches your chamber reasonably well. I think if your sizing die matches your chamber and you do minimal shoulder bump, you won’t see much movement in the necks. The less brass your moving, the less flow you will see. I also use the Whidden FL sizer and bump about 0.001. I don’t see much neck growth with Alpha or Lapua. I trim every time because it’s quick and easy with the Giraud. I also turn necks and cut into the shoulder a bit which may help also.

My Alpha BR brass has never stretched. I use a Redding ushing FL sizer - no expander ball - .2425 mandrel. I hardly move the brass. .272 no turn neck.

I only trim my dasher brass one time after firing forming. My brass really never grows much at all.
MOST brass with a 40˚ shoulder doesn't grow much after the first firing IME.
Also, @quest450 is right on about FL sizing. When the brass is sized it tends to grow in length some over the measurement from fired.
