Just got my 2nd 6 Dasher back from the smith. Sako Varmint laminate stainless that was a 22 250 and got it re barreled to 6 Dasher. Krieger 8 twist barrel 104 free bore. Shoots excellent with 105 berger hunting vlds but im planning on using this rifle on crows magpies and yotes and want a bullet with better expansion. I have a pile of 75 v max to use and need a starting load and help with choice of powder. I have H4895,Varget, N135 and 8208xbr. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Varget. Tried it today with the 75 vmax and terrible groups. Ill try H4895 next and work my way through the powders I have and see.
If you have no luck with the 75 gr give the 87 Vmax a try. Shoots great in my Dasher with Varget. Awesome expansion on varmints. Good luck.

I have a 8 twist 23" XCaliber chambered RemAge 6mm Dasher Barrel, I shoot 75grn V-Max with 8208XBR and CCI-450 primers. 32grns = 3200fps and 34grn = 3400fps. I believe you can push the bullet much faster however, 32grn is the sweet spot for this barrel with tight groups and 6-SD.

Tried 87 vmax today. Different seating depths and powders. Pretty much same groups at 200 as the 75 vmax. Still a dead coyote or crow at 200 yards and beyond but 1 1\2 inch groups at 200 yards in not acceptable for a dasher. Too bad because I really wanted to use one of these two bullets. I have some 70 grain ballistic tips on the way and I will give them a shot. If these don't work out I will stick with the 105 or 95 bergers. I have 1000 105 amax on hand but they are well below the neck shoulder junction even at 20 thou off hard jam with the .104 free bore.

Lately I have been shooting the 87grn V-Max in my 8-twist Dasher, 32grns of 8208XBR and CCI-450 primers has produced tight groups. I haven't chronograph yet.
Tried h4895,varget and 8208xbr with the 75 and 87 vmax and today with the 70 grain noslers. Jumped and seated in the lands. The 70 noslers were inch and a half to two inch groups at 200 yards with h4895. 8208 was better but not by much. Also copper fouled my Krieger barrel like no tomorrow. I have some n 135 I might try but I might just scrap the light bullets in this gun and stay with the 95 and 105 bergers as they shoot good.

in a 8 " twist, .055 fb, I shoot H335 with the 75's, good speed and super accuracy, 7 1/2 primer.
I also shoot the 105g A max in this freebore with fantastic accuracy with 31.6g of Varget and cci 450's, just watch for doughnuts.
This Dasher is a 25.5" hunting rifle.

Finally got time to revisit load development for this 6 dasher and got excellent results with the 87 v max. Turns out I wasn't feeding them enough varget. I was a grain or so to low. I struggled with the 70 and 75 grain bullets and also the 87 v max until I found a post by a forum member on here that stated 34 grains of varget was a hammer of a load with the 87 v max in his dasher. Well luckily that was the magic powder charge in my rifle also. Set 20 thou off hard jam 5 shots made a small ragged hole at 100 yards. At 200 I shot four three shot groups and two were half inch and the other two were 3\4 minus the bullet diameter. With the thin forend on the sako stock, the fact that I bought 1500 87 v maxs and in the beginning had terrible results I am happy.
