6 Dasher .272 neck

Whats your thoughts on a .272 neck Dasher? I hate turning necks how do you think it will shoot? What free bore for berger 105-108 or similiar bullet?

thanks!

I went for a .271 neck on my 6BRX. I have no problem with lapua brass out of the box however I have found that I reach pressure signs very early in my rifle which I suspect may be a result of too tighter neck clearance. In hindsight I'd be just as happy with a .272 neck.

My factory Savage produces fired brass that measures right around 0.270", suggesting the neck is about .271". I use the older cardboard box Lapua and have not neck turned it. Seems to work well with no feed issues, when I just size about two thirds of the neck.

However more recent lots of Lapua are reported to be thinner. Your best bet is to get your brass first, and then measure 10 or more loaded rounds. Then add 0.002" to the largest loaded case neck you measure. That would be a good neck size.
