6 Dasher 105 RDF/ H4350

Savageshooter has been doing that same thing with H4350 for a few years. He also gets velocity higher than anything I can do with Varget and shoots very well. Other locals have tried with some success. I know, I tried also.

No matter how long my drop tube, the powder has to be entered in that tube a little at a time. That takes time, lots of it. Even when I did that, many of the seated bullets backed out after seating.

Reports have been it's easier on throats and does not carbon foul like Varget. If you can get the bullets to seat and hold, that load can be great.

I don't think you really need a longer jump.

If you carefully measure the RDF bullets, with the same jump as your old bullet, you will see the RDF does not extend into the case as as far as your old bullet.
I carefully increased the powder charge based on careful QuickLoad runs till the velocity was the same with the RDF as it was with my old bullet.

So, as the RDF doesn't extend as far into the case, the effective case volume gets larger which decreases the chamber pressure. By seating deep for longer jump, you are simply making the effective case volume the same with both bullets.

My 6BRX burning IMR4320 with a slight bit larger powder charge (0.3gr) gives me the same barrel tune I got with the old bullets (A_MAX).

Those RDFs are going great to 1k, spot on fps and accuracy was amazing. My dad, who isn't a long rang shooter, put down a few 3 shot groups in the 1-2" range @ 700yds and 500yds today. I was really impressed with these "blems".

SavageDasher gets 3,080 fps with 30" bbl.in Dasher using that 36.5 gr. load with 105 Hybrids. I did it also but just could not hold seating depth. Any significant amount of powder less, that would not push the bullet up and the velocity dropped too much.

Thinking some people are using "creative" chronographs.
