6 Competition Match load Development

Started load development on the 6 Competition Match today. All groups were with H1000 and Sierra 110's. Based on the groups, where would you suggest going next to nail down a load? I was thinking 48.6 and then vary the seating depth to +/- .010 and +/- .020 from where I'm at currently to see if that helps at all. Didn't put on the MagnetoSpeed so I don't have the ES/SD info.
Thanks.aaa3.jpg

What is your current seating depth ? Has your brass been fully fire formed ? I personally do smaller jumps in seating changes and start with my bullet just touching the lands. I'm not saying your wrong, i am just curious......I think 48.6 looks good to start.

I ran the 115 DTAC with 48.7 grs. Of H1000 in my 28" Krieger. 3153 FPS and it would stack them. I'm with Rick on liking that 48.6. If it was me I would load on both sides of it and see what happens. My buddy Jim's load was the same has mine, my buddy Mark's was 48.6. That 110 smk is looking good.

With this amount of H1000,is it a compressed load? Do you hear kennels of grain being broke when seating the bullet? Thanks.

I use a drop tube and my oal is 2.860". Very little kernel crush going on in Winchester brass. My 6CM's have shot and shoot so well I quit concerning myself with the crush, not enough in some of the cases to sweat it. My .243 28" runs a 105 Hornaday bthp at 3154 fps using 49.9 grs of H1000 with good accuracy. oal 2.780". I use a drop tube, then put my finger over the mouth of the case and tap on the counter 2-3 times. This is Winchester brass also.

There is a little crunching but not too much. I have a drop tube coming so I'm hoping that will eliminate most, if not all of it

I start my seating depth just off the lands (around .010") with my powder charges. Then when I find my promising load my seating depth changes in .003"
