hi all , preparing to build a 6 br looking for advice . been shooting for years 6.5 wild cats with good success in 600 yd ibs . i want to build a 6 that is popular for resale if that should arise one day . i have dies and reamer for 6brx i have read that it runs with the dasher and i could make brass from the dasher by running the dasher brass through my brx dies fairly easy . the big question is upon deciding i would want to sell is that a chambering that shooters would consider ? do i sell what i have and go with dasher because of the brass being available ? your thoughts are welcomed and thanks in advance . mike burns owner of The Rifler Gunsmithing

It's certainly a chambering that a six hundred or 1K shooter would consider if the rest of the rifle, IE: stock and scope were set up for that type of competition. I would say that currently the most popular 600 & 1K calibers are the 6Dasher, 6Bra and the 300WSM. Not necessarily in that order. Hope that helps some.

If you decided to go with a 6BR or 6 Dasher I would assume you would have to acquire news dies and a reamer. Should you decide to eventually sell the 6BRX including the dies and a reamer could make the sale more interesting to a buyer.
However I am not sure BRX brass is easily made from Dasher brass.
Performance Dasher versus BRX is negligible.

I shoot F Open. The Dasher has the name but the BRX is almost just as popular. I shoot both and there's no difference in performance between them. .150"with .272" for no turn is popular, or the turned neck of you choice.

go the 6BRX , great caliber and same loads and speeds as dasher, i been through a few barrels now and i've tried other 6BR variants and i keep going back to it
i now use 150FB but i use a 270 neck so i have to turn my necks, just FF or hydroform your lapua 6BR brass
never heard of resizing dasher brass
you can use varget or H4350 with 105gr to 108gr

Helluva target right there, Comagutsa! I know how difficult that was from our brief foray into Fly Shooting here in Texas. You guys take care over there and stay healthy

A buddy of mine shoots a brx. He forms the brass from 6br brass and uses his 6br dies to load the brx. Just backs the dies off one hundred thousands.
I have a pair of BRXs. Been using them for about 12 years or so. I started off using a straight br die but eventually aquired the 'click' and had a die made. I would say you will be much happier if you contact Harrells and get a custom sizing die made. For a seating die I had a spare Wilson .243 die that I had the bottem milled off. It's a lot better set up with the proper sizing die so you can bump the shoulders and properly size the rest of the case in its entirety. I would advise annealing every firing and when forming cases anneal them before you fire them when your forming then. Then anneal again before sizing as normal.

Mike I hard jam 107’s with 30.3 of Varget with soft Winchester primers. If you have a spring loaded ejector take it out. They tend to shoot very well during fire forming and are competitive at 600 yards.

swd , yeah i have couple lbs of that stuff shoots in my 600 yd bench 308 win . thanks for the receipe . mike
