6 br load workup

ShootDots, do you use the same seating depth and neck tension with the N 150 as with Varget? I will do some testing, but curious what has worked for others.

Thanks, Eric

When I was shooting the N150 load, I was shooting Berger 105gr. Boattails set 15K off the lands. My Varget load, which incidentally, is also 30.2grs, utilizes a Berger 105gr. V.L.D. I am soon going to try the Berger 108's to see how they shoot...

Dukers: n150's burn rate is close to rel 17 and it does very well with heavier bullets as reported. your 14 twist will indeed shine with LT 32 and 60-68 gr bullets. i'm getting mvs of 3450 fps with 68 gr watson bullets and the varmints (ghogs) drop with alfalfa in their mouth.

You might want to try IMR 4007SSC if Varget and N150 aren't available. Velocity is a bit slower but the accuracy is better than Varget in my rifle.

I have been less then impressed with varget and heavies in the 6 br. I got using H4895 with 105 hybrids or vld-h. Br4 with 29.0-30.0 gr is pretty impressive. Low teen es and mid single sd. Running about 2900 out of a 26" barrel. Best group to date was 5 in .166" and 20 into .422". All shot with an ai chassis, mag fed from prone with harris and beanbag. Action was a savage.
