I know you asked moondog about his mags working, but here's some info on mine. Origin action, 6br using MDT 6br mags, no issues period. I ran the 6br in my unaltered pmag, once and only once it ran 10 without issue. What happens is when your loading the pmag and others the follower will tilt forward a little on the 6 or 7th round being loaded. If gone unnoticed it will definitely fail. I can run 5 in the pmag without issue. There's a couple of guys making kits for the pmag, one fella I believe is on here. The pmag is fairly simple to alter from what I've seen, and you don't need a mag with a length of 2.95"+.

My 6mmBR is in a ARC Mausingfield action. I installed the PR BR spacer kit and I had to mod AICS 10 round mags by both adjusting the length of the feedlips by grinding off a 10th of an inch and widening the space of the lips towards the front of the mag. It does feed perfectly now.

But in a M700 I'd try the PR kit first and go from there.

+1 for Berger Hybrid Target, Varget, and CCi450. I'm using a Savage 12 Benchrest with factory barrel at 500ish rounds. Brux Heavy Palma contour 7.5 twist 6mm barrel has been ordered

Chronograph your loads and expect increased speed till you have run ~ 200 rounds through it.

I have had the best luck with Berger 105 gr Hybrid especially at 600 yards. Since you said 200, 600 or further you might want to try the new 6mm Berger 109 gr Long Range Hybrid Target. It was just recently released by Berger and I plan on trying this 109 gr out.

I have the same basic setup you just described. I have also been using the Savage 12 with a Brux Barrel, Berger 105 Hybrid, Varget and CCI 450. That Brux Barrel really increased the accuracy and consistency of the rifle.
