6 br die question?

I am currently having a 6mm br norma rifle built. My gunsmith is using a 6br norma reamer which will work with Lapua brass. The neck is .262 and the brass will have to be neck turned. I am new to this, reading every article on this site to gain knowledge. What would you guys that shoot this caliber recommend I do for reloading dies. I have a RCBS Rockchucker press and would like to use dies that work in this press. I know a lot of people use Wilson dies, but they don't work with my press. I will not be competing, just playing at the range. However, I want it to be as accurate as possible. Suggestions please. Thank You.

Redding Competition seater and Type 'S' F/L sizing die have done pretty well by me, but Redding is getting pretty proud of their dies, kinda spendy for factory dies). A number of people like the Forster Ultra seater and Benchrest sizing dies; for a nominal fee Forster will ream the neck of the die to suit your needs. Additionally, Forster recently came out w/ a bushing-style die as well, but I have no experience with it.

The Wilson dies do work extremely well, and a good arbor press might not be a bad investment. You'd still need something like a Redding Body die to bump the shoulder back with, though.

Buy a Redding small base body die. Contact Jim Catstensen of JLC Precision and send the die along with two or three 2x fired cases to Jim. He will hone your die to size your case exactly and convert it to a bushing die for neck sizing. I use the Wilson seater dies with an arbor press.

My smith made me a custom full length bushing die from the same chamber reamer that he did my chamber with. The die bumps the shoulder and just touches the case wall just enough to give a good fit in the chamber. The die can be adjusted up or down to give the required .001" shoulder bump, which in my rifle seams to be the ticket. The custom die cost me $150.00 but to me it was well worth it.

I am still new to this 'stuff', but after purchasing my Neil Jones dies,,,, I would buy nothing else. I am sure there are other good products out there; I have used the Forster and the Wilson products with no complaints. Then I heard about the products Mr. Jones makes.

I agree with Dave, you don't need a .262 neck! A no turn .271 or .272 or if you want to just clean up the necks all the way in one pass go with a .269,that's my choice).

As to dies a Redding Competition Bushing Die set with micrometer neck die and micrometer seater and the body die is all you'll ever need.

I have to add my voice to the no-turn neck option. there is nothing wrong with no-turn necks, and the benefits are huge. I have shot very well in 300 meter matches with lapua brass straight out of the box.

As for dies, the Redding competition die set will serve you very well, buy a bushing that is 2 thou smaller than a case neck with a seated bullet. The Lee Collet dies are also a good option
