6 arc or 6x45 build

I would like to build a rifle for hunting coyote and whitetail deer.
I have a 8 twist 6mm barrel its like a #4 or 5 contour a McMillan rem hunter stock and a Bighorn Origin action with a 223 boltface.
I already have 6br 6mmAI and a 6x284 so I'd like something smaller, I also have a good supply of unfired LC brass so I was originally thinking 6x45 but now have this 6arc idea stuck in my head
And now can't decide and looking for insight.
Thanks

Would have to have the bolt face opened up for the ARC. Also I would source some ammo/brass/dies before building the ARC.

I’ve chambered a couple of my old 13.5 twist benchrest barrels in 6x45 for a buddy. He loves it. He took a few deer and some hogs with it and is sold! Basically stock Rem 700 and he shoots 1/2” groups with 68 Gr BT’s all day long!

My son loves his 6x45 20" AR. Shoots up to 87 grain mag lenght ammo or 105 grain's(@ 2640fps) when loaded long(single fed).

shoots great out to 600 yards....can't wait to get it out to 1000.

Getting one of my Cooper rifles re-barreled in 6x45. Brass is still plentiful and fairly easy to come by. Standard 223 powders should work and from what I’ve heard fairly easy to tune. I plan on shooting the lighter bullets from 55 to 75 grains

Sounds like the 6-45 was made or you, why ponder the question any longer?
I have both, but I'm with ebb on this one. You already have everything you need for the 6x45. Its a great and accurate round that is more then enough to do what you want it to do. I also have the ARC (and love it), but why go the extra steps and spend the extra money for no reason. Or, you could do what I try to always do and build both! LOL That way you know you get what you want! lol

YES THEY ARE I SHOOT ONE 27'' HART BARREL 8TWIST 75GR V-MAX MAKES BUGHOLES AND 85GR BTHP (1530) SIERRA'S IS MY DEER BULLETS SHES BAD TO 300YDS ON DEER
I will throw a wrench into this discussion.

There is also the 6mm TCU. Think 6 x 45 Ackley improve

As RockRat mentioned ... 6TCU, which is basically a 6x45AI. You pick up some additional case capacity/velocity. I designed a 6x45AI, because I just wasn't aware of the 6TCU so basically recreated the wheel. Aside from performance and no more case trimming, I like the AI/TCU for the added benefit of Case differentiation so no one can accidentally confuse it with a standard 223 Rem or 5.56 cartridge.

TCU/AI case forming is identical to fire-forming method for 223AI. The only difference is you need to neck up (expand) new brass from 223 to 6mm (expander mandrel die).

6/204- 85g partitions on deer and hogs. This case is like a magnum 222 magnum.

Speed is beyond belief and bug hole accuracy.

204 ruger full Length and neck bushing sizers with appropriate x bushings, open up a Forster or Redding sleeve on their comp seaters....done.

I am shooting the 22 cal version 69g Sierra MK at 3385---CFE half inch groups.

3150 fps is single bug hole groups-8208. Equate these numbers to 64 g Winchesters and 65g sierras. No flies on 63g sierra's on deer and hogs. I am shooting a nine twist.

I just built an ARC in Jan and was lucky enough to find some Grendel brass and made my own brass for the ARC. I had a few issues at first with pressure because I was running a can. Once I got it figured out all I can say is these damn things shoot like a bolt gun!! With 87s I shot mine out to 800yds for 3 shot groups to get some data and all the groups were .5 MOA or under to 800yds!! I also pulled some of the factory 105s and put 95 Bergers in them and they are shooting 5 shots into .5s.....

I have had time to ponder this question since building my 6x45AI. I was limited by the bolt face so a 6mm Grendel was not an option.

The 223AI case and 204 Ruger case are close on powder volume. If you go straight 204 case (neck-up to 6mm) then no fire forming. If you go with a 6TCU then never a concern for brass (cheap and readily available).

If you want more velocity for heavier bullets and longer distances then the 6mmAR / 6mm Grendel / 6 ARC is the way to go. Sourcing brass same challenge as for 204 Ruger brass.

I didn't even consider the 6-204 and since I have a 204 R and a 17-204 and a decent supply of new 204 brass that may be the way to go.
The main reason I even considered the 6arc was the possibility of factory ammo but that looks pretty much nonexistent.
