I've been shooting 123 gr. Sierra HPBT in my rifle and recently I wanted to try some 130 gr. Berger bullets. This rifle is chambered in such a way that I have no problem in OAL of the Sierra bullets fitting into the case such that the upper end of the beginning of the boat-tail is even with the bottom of the neck but not so with the Bergers which are longer. With the Bergers just touching the lands I have to have the bullet seated (COAL) such that the upper end of the boat-tail is extending down past the neck a bit and in testing or comparing the Bergers against the Sierra 123 grainers....the Bergers are lousy shooters with the current configuration requirement of having to be deep seated! I don't want to run a 'throater' into this chamber so I guess I'll have to stick with the Sierras which shoot exceptionally well out of this Jon Beanland built rifle. I've never had any rifles that shot well using BT bullets whereby the base of the bullet had to be deeply seated to a degree whereby the bolt would close!
