Has anyone hear ever made some subsonic loads for a 6.5x47L? If you have, please share the info with me.
Thanks!

I would start with Trailboss.
Thanks. I was planning on it.

Somebody has to have done this. I am just looking for a starting point, but if anyone wants to share personal experience, that would be better. If you don't want to post it, you can pm me. I'll keep it to myself if that's what you want.
Thanks

I belive that with trailboss you can fill the case to the shoulder and work down... im 99% certain that works with any round.

A 308 shoots 9 to 13 grs easily... if that help...

Basically you cant overload it, but watch it as you work down..

Just to make sure I understand your point...... I shouldn't be able to create too much pressure with a full case of Trail Boss and I should fill the case and then work down until I get to subsonic levels. Do I have this correct?

Yep.

However i also said a 308 shoots 9 to 13 grs easily.. so if a 308 is doing 13grs a smaller round should take even less.. so no need to start with a full case of trailboss...

Trailboss is pretty dang safe in a rifle has far as ive found... just cant go so low it sticks a round in the barrel. And make sure its flying straight on paper first before you shoot it with a suppressor..

I understand completely. I've been precision reloading for years now but subsonic is uncharted water for me. Thanks for the help!

You should be fine. First shot will tell you where to go from there... if it was me, id start at 10grs and work up or down from there.

What would the purpose be for such a round. A 750 grain bullet at 1050 fps only generates 1500 ft.lbs of energy. Just something to shoot at a can and not make any noise?

What I am loading should have a little over 300 ft lbs of energy out to 100 yds, which is good for more than shooting a can.

Hey Bob, I make a subsonic .308 W/11gr. trail boss & a 220gr bullet cat fart quite and reasonable accurate. I think the heaviest bullet will help. The folks at IMR say fill the case to the base of the bullet weigh the powder and start at 70% of that weight. Be advised, make sure they all clear the barrel. Good luck JD

People keep telling me to make sure they clear the barrel...... what are the chances of it not?

CHANCES??? I don't take chances on things that could blow up the gun and/or hurt you. Work this with a chronograph. 70% is IMR's number. I would start higher (85%+/-) and work down.
