6.5x47l Brass

I am looking at getting a 6.5x47l barrel but i can not find any brass. Is there any brass out there for it? the only brass i seem to be able to find is the 2000rd bulk lapua brass... And i REALLY dont need that much.. my friend and i were going to buy them together but he is now considering a creedmoor just because he can get the brass..

Email Lapua and see if you can find out when is their next run of 6.5x47 brass.

22-250 remington works very well for me.
This is what I did just to mess around and it turned out great. It takes a little time and a few tries to get the process down though.

Far left is a 22-250, center is shoulder pushed back and ready to fire form with a 140gr Berger VLD, far right is the fire formed case.

Fire forming loads were all sub .25" at 100 yards.

This is my process. I modified a 308 die to push the shoulder back. Winchester 22-250 brass lasts a long time even with hot loads. I really dont know why someone would pay for lapua when once fired 22-250 could be used for a fraction of the cost.....

just out of curiosity , why not go 6.5 creed? or is the 47L inherently more accurate ( yes i do know about Hornady vs Lapua brass but why else?)

The necks look like they were turned ? Was that for your chamber or just "match prepping" ??

What?? No 6.5x47L brass.. Not true! Everybody sells that.. Try bullets.com....

real popular in the precision rifle series and with long range shooters, very popular caliber in Europe.......it is possible they only manufacture a couple times a year?

Lots of places out of stock on 6.5X47, 260, and 6.5X284 Lapua brass. Like finding unicorn eggs.

One alternative guys is 308palma brass from Lapua. It has to be trimmed and necks turned but you keep the smaller primer pocket that the Lapua is famous for.

It's to clean up the donut left behind from the thicker shoulder brass on the 22-250. My 6.5x47 is just a plinking gun I put together for my kids, so spending $1 each for brass seemed pretty excessive.

I use a 7mm BR bushing die with the bushing removed just because that's what I have sitting around. I agree on the Winchester brass too. That's all I ran in my 22-250 and it's holding up great in the Lapua. I really don't feel like I'm giving up much durability compared to Lapua brass.

i am starting to lean towards the creedmoor, i really dont think there is huge difference between the two but i atleast know i can run down to the store and buy rounds and have brass afterwards. and its alot cheaper than any 6.5x47 rounds. and there is brass out there to be bought, alot of people have told me they have never seen the lapua brass gone, and i guess to me if im going through all of the work creating the brass i feel that the creedmoor just seems like a better deal knowing i wont have any issues with brass or anything.
