No pressure signs to speak of; easy bolt lift/extraction, no weird vel readings, no gross case rim growth, no ejector marks, last few rounds had some primer cratering but I don't consider that a deal breaker unless accompanied by other pressure signs. I could push it even a bit more, but why?

Not counting round #3, the group was 3" wide x 2" high with a 5.5 gr powder increase.

Nice start Alan, let us know what load you settle on.

I also shoot a 6.5x47 Lapua! ;D

Erik,

I know. You're the one I got the data from when we talked last spring. ;D I then tested it in my BIG 18lb Surgeon with a 26" Kreiger MTU barrel and was able to also get over 2900 fps but with more pressure signs than this little (8 lbs 11 oz) 6.5x47 I had commissioned this summer.

I tested the 140 Accubond too and got about 2875 before seeing a bit of pressure but not enough to scare me, just realized I needed to stop.

I hope to shoot some 1000 yd ladders this Saturday at the North Springs range near Price, Utah, right after I finish in our monthly sniper shoot.

Didn't end up shooting a 1000 yd ladder but did shoot a 600 yd group, paying zero attention to the wind which was running 2-10 mph from my 4.

41.3 gr netted me 2847 fps for 10 rds, 28 ES, 9 SD. 42 deg F, 23.4 baro.

As you can see the wind really blew my horizontal but my vertical is only 2.5" which equates to 4.1" @ 1000. Not bad for less than 70 odd rounds out of a new barrel.

I hope my new build works as-well.ordered the kreiger barrel from "Bruno" 12/30 great guy..this is a budget built (Ret) rem 700 sa,wyatts DBM,Bell & carlson LTR stock #2956,20 moa EGW base,sightron S111 6-25 LRMD..timmey trigger 1.5 lbs..Kreiger RV 1-8 26".. my friend and I are planning trips to the Price,ut range,maybe in march..hope to see you there..Danny B

Danny,

We start the year off next Saturday the 8th. 10-day forcast is showing 60% chance of snow showers. If snow is deep enough we can't shoot prone, instead shooting from the benches.

Alan

Thank you for the info on the next shoot Jan 8,is there a link to find the up-coming shooting events at the price range so my friend and I could make some plans...I know this jan 8 won,t work (work dinner planned) ~Danny
