6.5x47 no turn for 140 VLDs reamer print

Can someone help me out- I already searched this forum haven’t found what I wanted.

I want to build a 6.5x47 with a no turn neck running the 140 Berger VLDs.

What is the correct neck diameter and freebore for this.
Loaded round looks to be .2915 to .292 neck diameter.
I am thinking a 175 freebore But not sure. I am thinking a .2945 neck but seems there are a lot of .293 reamer prints out there.

It would be great if someone has done this and has a print number.

My loaded neck diameter is 0.290” and my reamer is 0.293” which I find is perfect. My freebore is 0.167” and is perfect for the 130 berger vld and better for the 140 berger hyd. I have 2 rifles that shoot both with the same reamer.

Mine is a .2945 neck as my brass measures .291-.2915 loaded. I run a .130 freebore because I exclusively run the 130 class bullets. If you want the 140’s then a .165-.180 will work great

Copy attached. Our reamer has a .138" freebore and cuts the neck at the mouth at .292". That is our no turn neck reamer.

I did that reamer a while back (2007) and set it up for 140smk. We've used that reamer in a ammunition test barrel and on rifles and all have shot excellent. The reference dimension with the smk is listed in a hand written note at the bottom of the page and that should give you some sort of a reference for length and compare it to other bullets. I myself don't shoot the 140 Bergers so I've never checked throat length on those for a reference etc...the throat might be on the shorter side for the longer bullets but it works fine.

If my loaded rounds are running at .2915 to .292 what would be acceptable for neck clearance ?

For a no turn I consider .003" clearance as a min.

so for a .292" loaded round neck diameter I would like to see .295" for the diameter of the neck on the reamer.
