I've had no problems with my Mega Arms AR10. I used JP's HP bolt & Low Mass Carrier with a SLR adjustable gas block. The HP bolt uses a smaller firing pin. No pierced primers which plagued those who use a regular 308 bolt with a bigger firing pin. Use PMags.
I'm running a 22 in Bartlein 1-8 twist. I do not use a buffer, I use the JP Silent Capture Recoil Spring. This along with their LMOS BCG and SLR adjustable gas control the cycling. Great set up.
Just so you know, dolphins cry when you shoot pretty Lapua brass through a gas gun.![]()
That's hilarious ! I have a couple AR15's that are actually not that hard on brass. I'm hoping if I build and tune it right it will be the same.
Honestly with a x47 your limited with one kind of brass thats hard to get your hands on at times and when you do its very expensive to be flinging everywhere with a gasser. Why not go strait .260?

Absolutely! The 260 gives very little away to the 47L in precision, will run the same velocities but at considerably lower pressures (good thing in a gas gun I'd have thought!), has some excellent brass available, and now that the nice Mr Litz has designed a high-BC but shorter 6.5mm bullet, the Berger 130gn AR-Hybrid, the last objection to 260 in an AR-platform has been removed. No worries about small primer blanking either.
I have a Rem R-25 in 7-08....LOVE it. I just need to do something about that HORRABLE trigger!!!!
After all was said and done I ended up going with the 6.5 Creedmoor.
Oh Lordy, Lordy !! You'll bring down great wrath, if not biblical plagues of boils or maybe of frogs in the kitchen, upon yourself for admitting such a sin on the AS Forum. If Moses were still around and in the business of bringing God's Commandments down from the mount on stone tablets, I'm sure No.11 would be 'Thou must not ever specify 6.5mm Creedmoor in a quality custom rifle'.
Even more heinous, 6.5X47L was rejected and The Abomination chosen in its place. !!! (Good choice anyway, I'd reckon for this application.)
I too have pondered the building of a 264 Win Mag as I sometimes like to resurrect some of the old has beens ( I have a 6mm Rem & a 225 Win). Keep us posted on your progress. It's all good. I use to be one of those that poopooed the Creedmoor round. Now ironically enough I have 2 rifles chambered in it. For some to not like the round so much there sure seems to be a lot of shooters using it. Whether it be the 6.5 or 6mm variant. The Creedmoor has a great OAL for feeding from a box magazine and doesn't have bullet seating issues of some other cartridges. Now, I like the 6.5 Creedmoor and don't regret my decision at all. I wonder if I would redeem or dig myself a deeper hole by saying I'm in the process of putting together another rifle in 264 Winchester magnum?

PS
Put a TriggerTech AR Diamond in you AR10.
