6.5x47 lapua help

I'm shooting the 6.5x47 lapua. I've been loading 123gr & 130gr bullets. I have a 28" Remage Bull Barrel with a
1-8 twist. I'm getting some good groups from 100 to 600yds. What other size bullets would be worth trying?

With a 1-8 you can use up to a 140 class bullet. I might suggest trying a Berger 140gr Long Range Boattail. It has a very short bearing surface and can be driven past 2800, even with a 28" barrel. Of course this will depend on your freebore. However,, if you are keeping a Berger 130 VLD above the neck / shoulder junction, you can with the 140 LRBT! If you can, try up to 40.2grs of H4350 or even possibly RL-16 although that is kind of bulky. Start with 7-8 thousandths INTO the lands>>>it is a SUPER accurate bullet. Because of the short bearing surface, you can drive it a little harder than say a 140 VLD or 139 Scenar..

1in8 6.5x47L will eat 140 hybrids and is super easy to tune. I jump .015 and have run a virtually identical load for years, several barrels and it just bugholes. Varget or H4350

plug and play

MY 6.5X47 HAS ALLWAYS DID BETTER WITH 130 CLASS BULLETS ITS A 40X 27'' 1/8 I'VE TRIED THE 140'S JUST DIDN'T PREFORM FOR ME BUT 130 BERGERS AND H-4350 DIFFERENT BALLGAME BUT I'M SPEAKING OF MY RIFLE THEY ALL ARE DIFFERENT

My 47L favors the 130gr Hybrids with RL16 .003 off the lands. I need a drop tube and I am below published max.

Good luck.

I like the 123s so much, I just bought 100 factory ones. I do want to see if there is any difference between the old Gold box Brass and the New Blue as now I wil have both.

mine loves 140 bergers with h-4250. regular shoot out to 1400yds great.

Hi
My rifle benchrest Kelblys panda action klub stock 26 in. barrel shoots 130 gr. bullets better than the 140s I bought a box of Sierra tipped green 130 gr. and loaded some up with varget 36.5 a lite load cci br4 primers touching the lands. Shot the best group I have ever shot in my 1.5 years shooting at 500 yds. Last month 4 in one ragged hole and fifth made it an inch group. I think I just got lucky average is 2in. at that range with Bergers. Going to try again this month if I can get away with 37gr. varget and some with H4350.

I am now running my 6.5 x 47 with 152 Matrix in a 1 in 8 and shoots very well. Huge BC with this bullet for reduced wind drift in F-Class midrange matches.
