6.5x47 Lapua and IMR8208XBR Data

Hey Guys,
Need help!! I have a 6.5 Grendal shooting Hornady 123 A Max with 28.5gr IMR8208XBR and it works great. BUT, I'm building a 6.5X47 Lapua and was hoping I could use the same powder. I know Re15 Re17 are said to be THE powders for the 6.5x47 but I also hear they are temp. sensitive. All and any help is appreciated. Shoot straight and shoot alot.
Thanks,

Deer Shooter

Varget is another go-to powder for the 47 and def not temp-sensitive. RL15 by all accounts seems to give slightly higher velocity but not by much

Around 38 - 38.5 of Varget for a 123 should do the biz. I didn't miss the X-ring at 300 yesterday using 38 behind a 123 Scenar.

The Rl15 and Rl17 powders being temp sensitive is always going to be a topic of conversation and even argument. I have never had a problem with either so I don't hold with this argument personally, YMMV.

I also don't believe that the Reloader series either RL15 or RL17 are the go to powders for the 6.5x47L. That I believe falls to H4350, hard to beat this powder in the 6.5X47L.

I do know a couple of folks who are trying 8208. It looks like it should work fine on paper, but I have not seen and results as of yet. If it were me and I had some 8208 I would sure give it a run, just to see.

in my 6.5x47 using 123gr bullets I use Accurate 2520 around 38grs and Rel 15, the 2520 gives higher velocities than the 15.
using the 130gr bullets I use H4350 and Rel 17, the only sensatifity I find with the Rel 17 is that in colder Temps it does perform as well velocity wise as H4350, but still a great powder in the warmer weather but H4350 is hard to beat dooley (UK)

35.1g of IMR8208XBR with the 136Hoover/140g JLKs in my 6.5x47 30" CBI barrel got me 2850 fps with good groups.
What twist are you using to stabilize the 140's?

I have a 1:8 twist Benchmark, same load shot well in 1:8 CBI barrel also.
