6.5x47 barrel twist...

I thought I wanted an 8 twist but I keep reading where folks are using 8.5's.

My plan is to shoot the 123 Scenars but if they don't shoot my 2nd choice is a 130 Berger...HELP! I have to order a barrel for my smith and I have located them but confused as heck as to which one to get.

8.5 twist has stabilized everything up to the 140 berger BT LR Match bullets in all the rifles I've worked up loads in.
I have seen no reason to go 8 twist in my rifles.

8.5 will work and you should get a little mure speed from it also. The faster the twist the more drag in the barrel.

Have three 8.5 all work fine on 130 gr. and 123.
