I'm looking for to come up with a average feet per second for the 6.5x47. Just looking to know what fps you get and how long your barrel is and bullet weight.
Thanks

I shot a ladder test Saturday with the 140's and Varget at 800 yards. 36, 36.2, 36.4 had about 2" of vertical between the 3 charges. Speed for 36.2 was 2710, does seem to be a good node there. There seams to be a very good nod at or near 2700fps with the 140 hybrid. I shoot PRS matches and know a lot of guys that run them there. It is low pressure and very consistent. Only after 4000 rounds on my barrel did I start loosing velocity. I went from 2710 to 2690. It has held there for a few hundred rounds now and the accuracy is great. I don't group regularly but the last time I checked it would still go in the 3s.
Really love the round. It just plain shoots.

I think the chronograph read wrong. That is over 150 feet faster then anybody else, even with longer barrels. MattWow, you guys are slow, a guy on "Long Range Hunting" is shooting 3000+ fps with a 140 Berger Hyb. out of a 26" barrel using 41.5 gr RL17 .
I say this in jest but it is what he is doing.
I say it is a bit over pressure even though he is not seeing pressure signs.

Although RL17 does yield some wicked speeds I to thing 3000 is unrealistic. Chronies can very by as much as 100fps.I think the chronograph read wrong. Matt
