6.5X284 to a 6.5X47 ?

I have a barrel that is chambered for a 6.5X284 that went south on me this season. I looked at it with a bore scope and looks like about an inch of erosion. It is 6’’ straight before starting to taper, I was wandering how much are if I would have enough barrel to cut off to re-chamber it to a 6.5X47 Lapua to use as a varmit gun.
Thanks in advance.

If you have 6 inches before taper, set it back 3 inches or so and it should be GTG for a varmint barrel IF the remaining barrel. is in good shape. Just compare the cost of a re chamber and remaining life of the old barrel to the cost of a new barrel and new chamber. Chambering will be same cost in most cases for the old barrel or a new barrel. Do the math-good luck.
